Gerardo Gil

Gerardo Gil trained at the Art and Ballet Center in Mexico City prior to graduating from the Australian Ballet School on full scholarship. After graduation, Gerardo performed a season with the Australian Ballet, directed by Ross Streton. From 1999 to 2005, Gerardo was a member of the National Ballet of Mexico performing the principal roles in Don Quixote, Coppelia, Les Sylphides, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Diana and Acteon, Le Corsaire, plus numerous contemporary ballets. Now in his sixth season with City Ballet, Gerardo has danced principal roles in the company’s Mozart Concerto, The Nutcracker, The Magic Flute, Carmen, The Seasons, Swan Lake, Flames of Paris Pas de Deux, The Firebird, Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ramona, Giselle, Peter Pan and George Balanchine’s Rubies, La Source, The Four Temperaments and Divertimento No 15.
